Some Rooms Watch Back

We built the first version of Silent Margin in an unused server room.
No marketing plan, just cables and an idea: what if space could listen?

Now it hums quietly under Maakri 19 — a place where motion, light, and heart rate mix in unpredictable ways. People step in expecting puzzles and end up arguing with their own timing.

It started with sound mapping, not psychology.
Then someone added pulse sensors. Someone else muted the clock.
By the third prototype, the room had learned to wait for people to calm down before opening a door.
It’s messy, unpredictable, and occasionally refuses to work — which is kind of the point.

Things That Move When You Do

  • Glass panels that fog when temperature spikes

  • Pressure floor built from recycled studio tiles

  • A light grid controlled by breathing patterns

  • An ancient server rack running all of it on patched firmware

Not a Target Audience,
Just People Who Got Curious

A team from an architecture firm used it to test teamwork. Two friends from Tartu filmed a documentary inside. A psychologist ran her students through it and took notes on hesitation. One night a gamer tried to hack the light system — and accidentally fixed a bug. No two groups handle it the same, and that’s what keeps us running it.
